Other platforms' batteries and Ryobi 40V

Ryobi 80V HP packs fit directly, one way (see note) reported
“4 brushless motors, (2) 80V 10Ah batteries, and (2) 40V 12Ah batteries” — espanol.ryobitools.com ↗, checked Oct 8, 2026. One way and model-specific: the 42 in (RYRM8021) and 54 in (RYRM8034) 80V HP zero-turns also run on 40V packs; the 30 in (RYRM8010) takes 80V packs only. 80V packs do not run 40V tools (no source says they do). Brand statement read from a search result, so 'reported' until the page is read directly.
Ryobi 40V: packs that don't fit every tool
- 6.0Ah 40V pack with some lawn mowers whose battery bay is too small: does not fit. walmart.com ↗ (retailer, not the brand's own word; read Oct 8, 2026)
Platforms it's compared with
We have no source saying any of these share batteries with Ryobi 40V, so owning both means two sets of packs and chargers. Each comparison lines the two platforms up tool by tool.
Same brand, different battery
Ryobi also sells Ryobi 18V ONE+. We have no source saying its packs fit Ryobi 40V tools, so don't assume a shared brand means a shared battery.
The Ryobi 40V lineup
Ryobi 40V is Ryobi's cordless battery platform. PowerToolGrid lists 58 products in it: 9 batteries, 10 lawn mowers, 7 string trimmers, 11 leaf blowers and more. Prices on file run from $94.97 to $649.00. Sold only at The Home Depot. It shares batteries, one way, with Ryobi 80V HP.
